Certifications
Twelve certifications, and a link to verify every one.
Google, HubSpot and Hootsuite. Displayed with verification links rather than as badge images alone, because a badge image is trivially easy to put on a page.

Do marketing certifications actually matter?
They are a floor, not a differentiator. A certification proves familiarity with a platform's mechanics — it says nothing about judgement, or about whether someone will tell you to spend less. Useful for ruling an agency out, close to useless for ruling one in. Ask for the numbers instead.
It is an odd thing to write at the top of a certifications page, and it is the honest position. These credentials mean the platforms have been learned properly and kept current. They do not mean the work will succeed, and any agency leaning on badges as its primary proof is telling you what it does not have.
What they are genuinely useful for is verification. Every one below links to an independent record you can check, which is more than most agency credential pages offer.
Six Google certifications

Search Ads 360
Enterprise search management across multiple engines and accounts — bid strategies, inventory management and cross-channel reporting at scale.

Display & Video 360
Programmatic display and video buying: audience construction, inventory, frequency management and brand safety controls.

Google Ads — Search
Search campaign structure, keyword strategy, bidding, quality score and the conversion tracking that makes any of it measurable.

Google Ads — Display
Display targeting, remarketing audiences and creative formats, including where display genuinely helps a service business and where it does not.

Google Ads — Video
YouTube campaign types, audience targeting and video ad formats, with the measurement approach that suits an awareness channel.
Google Analytics
Event and conversion configuration, attribution reporting, audience construction, and the exploration tools that answer questions the default reports cannot.
HubSpot
Five HubSpot certifications

HubSpot certifications cover the CRM side of the work — pipelines, automation, reporting and the integration between marketing activity and sales records. They are the credential most relevant to how engagements here are actually run.
- HubSpot Reporting
- Dashboard and custom report building, attribution reporting, and connecting pipeline data to marketing activity so sales and marketing read from one source.
- HubSpot Inbound Marketing
- Content strategy, lifecycle stages, lead nurturing and the segmentation that makes automated follow-up relevant rather than generic.
- HubSpot Sales Software
- Pipeline design, deal stages, sequences, task automation and the sales reporting a manager will actually open on a Monday.
- HubSpot Marketing Software
- Workflow automation, forms and landing pages, list segmentation, and the CRM integration underneath all of it.
- HubSpot Social Media
- Publishing, monitoring and social reporting inside the CRM, so social activity is attached to contact records rather than sitting in a separate tool.
Hootsuite
Hootsuite University

Social media management, scheduling, monitoring and paid social. The oldest credential in the set and the least central to how the work is done today — social sits underneath search and follow-up for most of the businesses we serve, and we say so on the pages where it comes up.
Verification
Check them yourself
The credential wallet below shows every certificate with its issuer and status. If you are assessing any agency, check that credentials are current rather than accepting a badge image — Google and HubSpot certifications require periodic renewal, and a page full of expired badges is a common thing to find.
Questions about certifications
What certifications does Marketing & Technology hold?
Google certifications in Search Ads 360, Display & Video 360, Analytics, Ads Search, Ads Display and Ads Video; HubSpot certifications in Reporting, Inbound Marketing, Sales Software, Marketing Software and Social Media; and Hootsuite University. All are held by Mathew Brown and independently verifiable.
How do I verify these?
Through the credential.net wallet linked on this page, which shows the certificates and their status directly from the issuers. We link to verification rather than only displaying badge images, because a badge image is trivially easy to display and proves nothing.
Do certifications mean the marketing will work?
No, and it is worth saying so on the page that displays them. Certifications prove familiarity with a platform, not judgement about your business. They are a floor rather than a differentiator — useful for ruling someone out, close to useless for ruling someone in.
Are you a Google Partner?
The Google Partner programme is a separate agency-level status with its own spend and performance requirements, distinct from individual certifications. The certifications listed here are individual credentials held by Mathew, which is what this page claims and nothing more.
Do certifications expire?
Google and HubSpot certifications require periodic renewal, generally annually, which is why the verification link matters more than the badge. If you are assessing any agency, check the credential is current rather than accepting a badge on a page as evidence.
Certifications are the floor. Ask about the numbers.
The more useful question is what a booked job costs and how it is measured. The free audit answers that for your business, which is worth considerably more than a badge on a page.
